THE SALVATION ARMY INCREASES DONATION PICK-UP SERVICE IN NOVATO
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. – March 18, 2010 – In response to an upsurge of requests by Novato residents, The Salvation Army has designated more trucks to service the donation pick-up needs in the region. Charitable donations allow The Salvation Army to continue their work with programs that help benefit men and women suffering from chemical dependency.
“It’s encouraging to see the desire by Novato residents to support The Salvation Army by donating their unwanted items,” stated Major Jack Phillips, Bay Area Coordinator for The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers in San Francisco, Oakland and Healdsburg. “Their donations are sold at our Family Stores and 100% of proceeds fund our rehabilitation program that provides room and board, work therapy and alcohol and drug counseling to those suffering from substance abuse.”
The Salvation Army will pick-up donation of slightly used clothing, shoes, furniture, small appliances, electronics, rugs, books, accessories, and household décor. Novato residents can call The Salvation Army at 1-800-SA-TRUCK or visit the organization’s Website at www.sanfrancisco.satruck.org.
